Lincoln Seat Covers
The Lincoln brand is today owned by the Ford Motor Company, but once it was an independent company that had quite a reputation. It was founded in 1917 by Henry M. Leland who was incidentally also the co-founder of Cadillac. However almost from the beginning the Lincoln Motor Company faced financial problems and so when Ford wanted to purchase it off, Lincoln did not stop the bid. The company was finally sold off in 1922.
For Henry Ford it was sort of a sweet revenge because it was Henry M. Leland who led a team of investors and threw Ford out of the company he created. Ford turned Lincoln around and quickly the sales started to climb. Lincoln became America's top selling luxury brand alongside Cadillac and Packard. The Lincoln company has a long history of providing limousines for the U.S. Presidents. The first car that was specially built for Presidential use was the 1939 Lincoln V12 convertible that was lovingly named the 'Sunshine Special. It was used by Franklin D. Roosevelt.
